Strong Early Turnout

Welcome Tugger

One day after the official opening of entries, an even dozen boats have registered for the 2026 Pacific Cup.

"It's great to see the strong turnout," says Commodore Bob Hinden "All the entrants I have talked to are very excited about the race."

So far, we're seeing a pair of Cal 40s, teeing up an early rivalry. One TP52, for a dose of modern speed, and a strong representation of return boats. The early fleet is heavy in the 40-foot range, typical for our race, but with some early representation in the 20-something doublehanders. The full current list can be seen here.

An interesting twist for the 2026 race, already attracting comment, is the offer to let boats select between PHRF and ORR scoring. These will be run as two parallel regattas, effectively, with the fans of each system getting their choice. A detailed FAQ about the scheme can be found here.

We're eager to see who's next to sign up....
