It's Talk Story and Maitai Time at Kaneohe: All boats are in
With Free Bowl of Soup's arrival last night, the count is 48. All boats are in.
Yes, the scoring tells a tale of who beat whom, but now is when the sailors settle in to tell the little stories: The shackle replaced when it broke; an electrical gremlin chased away in the middle of the sea; a whale that cavorted by the boat. Tales of humor and frustration, accomplishments and sometimes just pure wonder at the magnificent Pacific they have seen in a way that few others have.
At Kaneohe Yacht Club, the longhouse -- a seating area open to the lawn -- is immediately adjacent to the well-attended bar, so we're sure things are flowing freely in all directions.
Tonight, the traditional Luau, with a pan-Polynesian dance and music performance, beckons race participants, club members, friends, and family to dine on traditional foods and enjoy the show.
