The 50th Transpac race is safely put to bed. It was, by all accounts and our personal experience, a great run to the islands. With a large number of entries there were, of course, a number of incidents. Several boats had turnbacks out of prudence, and one, we were sorry to learn, was lost (all souls rescued by Disney and crew on Pyewacket).

Of course, we had quite an overlap between Transpac crews and Pac Cup crews and boats. Some of us can't quite get enough!  An observation: one way to get your boat on the podium seemed to be to have a Pac Cup board member aboard:

  • Oaxaca (with Commodore Michael Moradzadeh)
  • Sweet Okole (Perennial Pac Cup entrant, with board member Rebecca Hinden aboard)
  • Velvet Hammer (With board member Zachery Anderson)

But to ALL who entered and started, WELCOME HOME!
