Starting Dates and Times
It's as big a question as "what will you serve at the halfway party"; when are the starts? After working hard with best estimates of ratings and likely dropouts, our team has provided a listing of boats by division and official start time.
The Holo Holo Cruising Division will be the first to start on Sunday, July 6, 2014, and will be followed with starts of the ‘Iwi Double-Handed and Alaska Airlines divisions on Monday, July 7th, the Weems & Plath, Matson, and Kolea Double-Handed divisions on Tuesday, July 8th, theHokulea Multihull and Sonnen BMW divisions on Thursday, July 10th, and the Latitude38 division on Friday, July 10th.

Parties (and other events) Ticket Sales Open
Well, mostly parties, actually. From the exciting new Pacific Cup Village to the always wonderful Kaneohe Finish Line events, there is a dazzling array of enjoyable events where you can mingle with your fellow racers and share your stories of preparation, racing, and finishing. ORDER BY 6/15 if you want before the race starts. High-quality gear from Coral Reef, emblazoned with the 2014 Pac Cup logo, will keep you comfortable and sharp looking. You want this stuff. Otherwise, what are you going to do, walk around wrapped in a bow sticker? We think not.
Racers with a Reason
We all have our reasons for heading acros the Pacific. Some racers have added an extra dimension to their adventure.
- THIRSTY (Charles Devanneaux) is sailing for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Having lost a close friend and crewmate to this ailment, the team on Thirsty is sailing to raise awareness and funds to fight this debilitating killer. Visit http://sailingforals.com/
- MIRAGE (Stan Perkins father/daughter team) has dedicated his race to "Remember Nhu", an organization fighting child exploitation and slavery. Their goal is to raise $160,000 to build a new safe house for child victims of human trafficking. Visit http://www.sailforremembernhu.org/
Both efforts are 100% self-funded and are taking no share of the donations. All contributions will go directly to the target organizations. We are proud to have some of our racers making use of the event this way, and we urge our participants and friends to consider these drives for support or donation.
