Responding to strong sailor interest, Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) has added a second day of Advanced Safety at Sea training the weekend of April 29 and 30, 2017.
When taken within a year of the one-day basic US Sailing SAS course, this Advanced course will satisfy World Sailing (formerly ISAF) requirements for all races. Pacific Cup and other offshore races now require at least this level of training for at least 30% of the crew.
For participants who have not attended a one-day program within a year, US Sailing offers an online program that may be completed from home (or your office, if nobody's watching).
Of course, in addition to the mandated Safety at Sea courses, Pacific Cup prides itself on its preparation seminars, offered as the "Pacific Offshore Academy". The first of these will be held at the boat show in Richmond, April 8. Sign up for that here.
