The 40th Anniversary Edition of the Pacific Cup, the FUN race to Hawaii will see the first fleet starting Monday, June 29, 2020. Starting in front of the iconic Saint Francis Yacht Club, successive divisions of boats will head out the gate from June 29 through July 3, all proceeding 2070 miles to beautiful Kanoehe Bay.

The date was chosen with careful regard to a friendly outgoing midday tide as well as seeking a coveted full moon, making night racing more pleasant for our crews. "The race is a thrill," said race Commodore Michael Moradzadeh, "and it's great to be able to see your sails easily during those midnight watches."

A perennial feature of the race is a full schedule of preparation seminars, sanctioned safety seminars, and social events before and after the race. Dates of these will be announced shortly.

Potential participants are invited to get a jump on their preparations by signing up for Pac Cup's US Sailing-sanctioned International Safety at Sea with Hands On training in April.

Entries are expected to open in the Spring.
