Entries for the 2018 Pacific Cup are now open!
Once again sporting racing and cruising divisions, the Pacific Cup's 20th running will start July 9 off San Francisco and finish in the warm waters off Kaneohe Bay, Oahu. Participants are invited to sign up early.
From the preparation seminars to the pre-race "Village" on San Francisco Bay to the post-race festivities at Kaneohe Yacht Club, participants may expect a great time off the water as well as on.
A list of required gear will be published in the near future. Three items that participants may begin to plan for now are:
- At least 30% of the crew (including the Skipper) must take the full (two-day) Safety at Sea course. PCYC is offering a hybrid online/hands-on course on April 29. Folks who have taken the regular 8-hour course within the last year need only complete the hands-on portion.
- Each boat must be able to send and receive e-mail
- Each boat must, in the year before the start, sail at least 150 miles with the skipper and at least one crew aboard, including an overnight passage.
We're looking forward to a great time in 2018. We hope you'll join us.
