I am looking forward to racing on the open ocean, especially racing at night with the spinnaker up.

I have my sail bag packed and am ready to walk on the boat at the last minute. Call me on my cell at (510) 710-2449. I have a one-way flight back from Honolulu to SF on August 2, 2008, and I'm buying myself tickets to the parties in Kaneohe, so I'm committed to going.

I have been sailing and racing for over 20 years on the San Francisco Bay. I raced in the Pac Cup two years ago on "Vanessa," a Beneteau 57. I've been working with the Pac Cup organization over several races, and I'm on the Board of Directors this time around.

I have stamina (I run, swim, and bike regularly). I've crewed for Paul Kamen, Jim Fair, etc. and can do all crew positions, including foredeck. Please call Paul Kamen for a reference--(510) 219-8106.

I have a condo in Oahu, near Diamond Head, that self and some crew members could stay in at the end of the race. It's an incredible location--walking distance to Waikiki beach--I'll give free surfing lessons to all willing crew members.

Hello. Our names are Chuck and Jan. We are a husband and wife team. We were part of the delivery crew for 'Cirrus' arriving from Hawaii to San Francisco on June 17, 2008. Currently training for the 2008 Santana 20 Nationals on the bow. I have competed in the 2008 Oregon Offshore and the 2008 Swiftsure and am looking to do more, especially offshore. I have excellent culinary skills and my years as a bartender has ensured I am able to get along with and communicate with all most anyone. As well as get you loaded. I am physically fit and have great strength to muscle the winches when needed or grind. Am able and willing on the bow. I am ALWAYS eager to learn more and I catch on fast. I ask if I dont know so as not to screw it up.

If you need a race crew I can meet the boat and the crew on the dock. If you need return delivery from Hawaii I will require airfare and stay. I am not picky....I will stay on the boat. I pack light and eat light. I always sleep with my boots on so im ready to go. Oh yeah....I have all offhsore gear including my own gumby suit.

I am a sailing instructor for UC Berkeley, and repair boats on the side. I have seen a fair amount of chaos as an instructor and both work well with people and can handle stressful situations well. Imagine six boats full of green sailors going in different directions in 28+ kts of wind and you can get the picture.

I have crewed the Berkeley beer can races fairly often, and enjoyed working all positions, but prefer foredeck. Although I love to race keelboats, dinghy sailing is my passion. When I am not teaching I am sailing.

I am able bodied, FA and CPR certified, and a bit of a knot nerd. I work well with others, and am hoping to learn something from you blue water cruisers.

I did the Pac Cup in '06. I've also sailed across the Atlantic and delivered a boat back from Oahu to SF after last year's TransPac.

More than sailing experience, I think I'm easy to get along with and that may be the most important quality during these passages. I'm respectful of people, willing to work hard, and I'm a decent cook.

My name is Tarnia. I am looking for more extreme ocean/offshore opportunities to be both racing and returning crew in the Pacific Cup. In the past 10 years, I've done more than 20,000 miles offshore. I've raced/sailed/skippered/delivered professionally. The last biggest event that I was involved was the Rolex Sydney Hobart 2007 which I trained and qualified the British Vessel, Flying Fish in the race (but due to my head concusssion accident 4 days before the race in one of our qualifying passages, I could not continue with the rest of the team). The local events in the North West Pacific I've recently done are NOOD Regatta Seattle 2008, Swiftsure International Yacht Race 2008(Swiftsure Lightship Classic Cat) and North West Pacific J-Festival 2008.

I am 26 female, 5 foot one and weighs about 110 pounds in great shape, with good eye sight and passed the Seafarer’s Medical Exam (received all vaccinations needed for Commercial Seafarer).

My favourite sports besides sailing that help me build my strength and stamina: Whitewater rafting, Swimming, Badminton, Horse Riding, Abseiling, Pilates and Yoga.

My personality is easy-going, fun to be around, helpful (people call me a “very kind and considerate” person), athletic, active, enthusiastic and I can stay calm and be aware of what’s going on around me (never panic when I have to handle unexpected situations).

My profession is a business consultant and business coach. I also have my own fair trade design clothing/jewelry line that supports fair trade community around the world.

Besides what I love in Arts and Business, I take sailing and racing seriously and that’s what I want to be because I want to enjoy it for the rest of my life. I take Yacht Design/Engineering courses because I’m very determined to have my own business in yacht management and yacht design.

On the racing boats, I enjoy doing every position if I need to, flexible in that sense...I'm comfortable driving the boat up to 75 footers, at the helm of the Volvo Open 60 for the offshore test drive twice.I do pit/trimmer/grinder/helmsman most of the time. I can drive well at night and efficiently organize the crew watch system.

For tactician/navigator position and radio operating position, I request to have maximum 2 months to prepare for all information needed for each race and will be well prepared and informed by the skipper about the plans in advance.

• 1998-1999 Ocean Passages Round North Island and South Island, New Zealand as a skipper (Round North Island) and co-skipper (South Island to Auckland) on Beneteau Oceanis 461 (3941 NM)

• 2000 Sea Survival Training (in the Ocean Training)with Coast Guard New Zealand for the sailing non-stop trip from New Zealand crossing Bass Strait to Australia.

• Winter 2000/2001 skippered/first mate sailed from New Zealand (via Bass Strait)to Sydney(skipper/first mate), practiced the same course for the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race: Sydney to Hobart (co-skipper this leg),Hobart to Queensland (skipper), Queensland Cruise(1st Mate. Some legs/routes were non-stop (5520 NM in total)

• 2007-2008 Gulf Island Cruising and Boat Delivery for some chartered companies in Vancouver and in the Pacific Northwest.

• 2007 Qualified Team Arctos (a British vessel the Red Ford 64 Aluminum Boat built for Circumnavigation, based in Manly, Australia)to pass the ISAF/RYA/YA (Yachting Australia)final assessment mandatory for Sydney to Hobart Race as an experienced crew in ISAF CAT 0,1,2 races for the team to be eligible to participate in 2007 Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race, Appointed as a tactician and first navigator, Trained British and European Trainees for this Hobart Race in 14 days: Sail Trimming and Techniques, Spinnaker Handling, Storm Jib Set-up and Boat Handing in the storm, Safety Sails/Running Riggings/Standing Riggings/Spinnaker Handling Techniques and Racing Tactics to go through Bass Strait using the warm current allowing the boat to get to Storm Bay in Hobart Faster(According to the head concussion injury on the 24 hour non-stop qualifying passage 4 days before the Sydney-Hobart Race begun, I did not proceed with the team in this race)

• 2008 North West Pacific J-Festival 2008 in Seattle, on Bergen Viking, finished 3rd first day (one of the only 3 boats to finish the race on the first day, finished 4th overall

• 2008 Go Soul Sailing (my business) that incorporates fun and challenging activities into it. I am seeking a race crew position or return delivery position. I own and race my Islander 36 in Hawaii, have done extensive interisland sailing and crewed for several boats down in the Marshall Islands. I have US Sailing Bareboat Charter Certification from J World Sailing School in San Francisco and really want to experience a long passage. I'm easy going and get along with just about anyone, work hard and would be willing to do any job. I teach at Leeward Community College so have plenty of time off with a flexible schedule. Sign me up!

Well I can't compete with the level of skill posted on this site. All I have is day sailing 22 footers out of San Diego bay, and 18ft catamaran experience. I am willing to do the just about whatever is asked of me in the boat operations, just to get the experience. If crew plans fall through for you as skipper, I can be ready within a day. I am willing to be part of the race team, or return to mainland crew.

I have skippered over 6000 miles of offshore sailing (all with only one or two crew) on my 38 ft. Ollier designed catamaran as I sailed it from the S. of France to the Canaries, the Canaries to Puerto Rico and P.R to Florida. I also have 3 years of experience racing beach cats (Hobie 16 and others), and have spent 3 weeks sailing solo on a 16 ft. Playcat in the San Juans and the B.C. Gulf Islands. I have a Wilderness First Responder certification and teach Wilderness Adv. First Aid. I have also spent a lot of time mountaineering (including in Alaska and Pakistan), so I definitely understand the art of suffering and believe that it doesn't have to be fun, to be 'fun'!
