The 2012 Pacific Cup starts July 16, 2012 and will last approximately two weeks, followed by an awards ceremony at Kaneohe Yacht Club on Friday, August 2, 2012. The race runs every even year from the San Francisco Cityfront, 2070 nautical miles to Kaneohe Bay on the island of Oahu's lush windward side.

Well in advance of the race, Pacific Cup Yacht Club will be staging a series of preparation seminars and events designed to equip up to seventy boats and their crews to make the exciting passage from San Francisco to Kaneohe Bay on the island of Oahu.  The participants in the race range from first-timers in relatively slow family cruisers to experienced professional crew on a high-tech racing machine.  Many entries are double-handed, meaning that they make the crossing with just two aboard!

PCYC's media person, Kate Helsper-Barr (media@pacificcup.org) will be happy support media inquires with information and with making connections to race participants who may be of interest to your readership.

Media are invited to register for the press release distribution list as well as the somewhat more lighthearted newsletter for up-to-date information about the race.

Photos and graphics are being organized for media use in advance of the race.  Until these are posted, inquiries are welcome.
